Why does everyone think Banks has a legitimate chance of making the team?  I understand he's the feel good story of the off season. And I hope he makes the best of his opportunity, but where is the body of work that suggest he can beat out the guys who are currently on the roster, or the UDFA that did not miss significant time away from the game?
because he does. the coaches love him.

Good read, liked the Rolando McClain part too.  The falcons are full of promising CFA, it will be interesting to see who will make the roster and PS.

Camp needs to hurry up and get here.  This is why I like the idea of them moving dates around.

Scott, How do you see things shaking out for LBs?

I'm thinking Schiller takes James spot / Banks Warrilow or Joplo to replace Pete / and one of the remainders to PS. Right now I'm thinking Banks to PS.

Agreed. The Banks/Warrilow/Joplo trio will be interesting. It sucks cause I want all 3 to make the team :o

Bartus film is some serious chit, if truly film don't lie, he is no joke ...I know it's the WAC, but this guy sees it and blows it the fk up ...if Spencer Adkins had this guys football instincts, he could have been a contender ..

That's one thing that stood out to me on Bartu's highlights... He does not get fooled... locates the ball quickly and goes and gets it.  Joplu "Search and Destroy" Bartu.

I'm going to put this out there. It would not shock me if the 2014 starting linebackers were Weatherspoon-Banks-Worrilow.
Banks a starter? You must love the guy. I honestly don't see him sticking around on the team. He didn't stick around in Seattle when they gave him a shot. Mike Smith said in an interview that he was behind, but if anyone can get caught up, it is a guy like Banks. To me that doesn't sound too promising.

As far as Worrilow, I think the dude definitely has a strong chance of making this roster. He definitely could improve on his footwork and he will have too. He got through in college because he is a such a quick/fast guy. One wrong step in the NFL isn't the same as college. I see his chances of being a starter next year are much higher.

What all do you see in Banks because I am not that familiar with him. I am just basing my opinion off crap I have read about him.

I think it's going to be this:

WLB - Weatherspoon/Schiller
MLB - Dent/Banks
SLB - Nicholas/Worrilow
practice squad: Clancy and Bartu

basically, it's more of a shot in the dark. But from everything that happened at minicamps, he's got the leadership and instincts. Worst case, Banks is on the practice squad and a guy like Bartu or Clancy makes it.

Listen I’ll agree that Banks as a starter at this point is a little over the top, but your contention that he didn’t stick with Seattle is bogus as well. He was NEVER signed by Seattle for him to have an opportunity to “stick”.

Banks tried out for 6 teams including the Falcons last year after he was exonerated, and none of them signed him. The Falcons gave him some things to work on in addition to his training to get into game shape.

This offseason they signed him and this will be his first shot with any team to make a roster or fail. I hope this guy does well, both because I believe he deserves it and also because I love the Falcons and want the best for the team.

Any suggestion that Banks could come in and take the starters spot his first year after so many years away from the game is really only wishful thinking at this point.

Same here. All other LB highlights I've seen I go "Yea he's good, could fix this, nice here, etc..." with Bartu I was just like "Dear God he's everywhere at once"

This is first offseason for Banks, Banks went to SEA as a try out in rookie camp two weeks after his exoneration. He worked out with 6 teams including falcons to get in to the camp. Let the man get his first off season program and he might surprise a lot of folks.

I like Bartu and Clancy very much. Could easily see all 3 make team. I'm pretty sure James is gone,  and no more Peterson .i noticed espn has Clancy listed as SLB.
I wouldn't be surprised to see both Nicholas and dent pushed by one of the rookie FAs

I already have Banks on the PS.... He has enough to be on the PS and it would give him time to learn.

Its a couple LB's i like but you cant have a realistic idea until TC and the preseason.
