Nono, are you suggesting the Falcons should  of traded to get the first five picks of the 2013 NFL draft and get 5 Defensive line players?  Maybe we should of traded with every team in the league and snatch up all their defensive ends.  Wtf was Thomas Dimitroff thinking by not trading for Demarcus Ware and Aldon Smith?  JJ Watt, we could easily get him with a trade, maybe Watt for HD?  I don't get it.  I really wish the Falcons could wake up and start acquiring these players since we only have 53 spots to fill.  Why even draft past the first round?  Seriously?  I wish the Falcons would just forfeit their picks after the first round because NO ONE is good after the first round, EVER!!!!!

Thank god this poster isn't our GM. Boasting about success to the fanbase is bad? Especially when you've had five straight winning seasons?

I have a question for you sir, what would you be saying if we had five straight losing seasons? They should be proud of their accomplishments. It's not easy to be as good as the Falcons have been as of late, it also generates plenty of revenue. And draft picks aren't answers? What would you suggest, probably something that the Falcons have not demonstrated but has still resulted in five straight winning seasons. I disagree with you entirely fellow poster.

He does have a point about the DL.....same ol same ol no pass rush.

As Al Davis always said the QB must go down and  must go down hard

Huh, you can question the moves but you can't say we are same ol same ol, We signed OSI have two young DE's and two rookie DE's that are going to get alot of playing time. That is Hardly same ol same ol, Same deal with the oline we have a 2nd rd pick replacing a 7th rd pick and a 3rd pick replacing an UDFA and alot of competition for playing time.

This is a good thing and hardly same ol same ol.

Lol.  Over analyzing what "state of the franchise" means. It's supposed to be a kool-aid drinking sunshine pumping event even for the teams that have been struggling. It's a celebration of all things Falcons. You're not going to get beat over the head with negatives or question marks. That's for the boardroom. This is how American business works.

I noticed at the State of the Falcons (which is nothing more than a pep rally) the word urgency was used a lot but in reality I'm not so sure. There was a lot of "we have won more regular season games than any team in the last 5 years type comments". While I am truly happy we were 13-3 last season (all except for the last game against Tampa where we should have started the 2nd string), it smacks of the same hollow add campaign the Atlanta Braves push about winning divisions while winning just one World Series as though we can't remember how they get ***** slapped in the playoffs year after year.

I really wish there was an urgency in the Falcon FO. Someone needs to speak up & address the pass rush and quit selling the DE draft picks as the answer or Cliff Matthews. Rookies genarlly don't dominate the DL especially 3rd or 4th rounders and we all know and saw how effective Mathews was.

Wake up TD and Arthur you're making a mistake that could be fixed by signing a Richard Seymour or Abe.

BTW, where the heck was Nolan, Koetter or King Arthur Thursday. I'm not going back to one of those weak pep rallys if you dont' talk some real issues (not the fuking stadium--I could care less what McKay has to say about much of anything)!

Chip
Look, everybody knows we needed pass rush.  The Falcons have made the decision that it is NOT as big of a concern as we all seem to think it is.  I recall in 2008, half this town and board were in love with Glenn Dorsey.  Falcons went another direction that proved to be right.

While I would have loved 2 DE's in this past draft, the Falcons made another decision.  Its not your call or my call.  It not worth the "sipping the koolaid" tag either.  If they end up winning and back in the playoffs as one of the top teams in the NFC, will you not be right on board and pulling for them?  If So, then what's the problem?
