Let's put it this way.....he didn't earn the money he is getting paid.

I'd agree with that he camp into camp last year Turner style... this year he is looking fresh and fast.

That's a full yard per carry difference.

Who's better Reggie Bush or Chris Johnson?

I'll wait

Can you imagine if, say, the Packers swung a trade for him? They'd literally be unstoppable.

Turner and a pick or a player or both. If we threw in Kerry Meier or even HD we wouldn't know they were gone. Ryan rarely passes to either one.

No let us keep HD... MM won't know who he is anyway.

A 1st and a 2nd.  If the Jags were to trade him, that is about what it would take.

Right below that:

"CBS Sports' Mike Freeman reports there's no chance the Jaguars will trade holdout Maurice Jones-Drew.
Freeman's source actually said that, "for the moment, no (expletive deleted) way the Jaguars trading MJD." Although Jones-Drew wants more money -- either from Jacksonville or another team -- the Jaguars have little incentive to trade their best offensive player. The saber-rattling from Jones-Drew's agent doesn't change the fact that he has no leverage."

you missed the part where I said I did not put much stock in it.

Well he definitely wouldn't know who Meier is.

MJD is a great back.

Right now.

Age.
Lotsa carries.
Ridiculous contract demands.

I'll pass.

Age- Jones-Drew is 27. He's in his prime and on schedule for atleast 2-3 more seasons of elite production.

Carries- Jones drew had 343 carries last season and 300 the previous 2. He also averages about 50 catches a season. That is a big workload. He did lead the NFL in rushing on 1 of the worst teams. This is why Jacksonville will never get more value than they can for him right now.

However MJD came into the league behind Fred Taylor and had 166, 167, and 197 carries his 1st 3 seasons in the league, becoming a true workhorse in his 4th season. He's still got some magic left in that tank

Contract demands-Who cares? This is the NFL, a league owned by billionaires. They all have more money than they could ever deserve, they were born into wealth and haven't worked a day in their lives. If you want good players, you have to pay them. The salary cap is actually meaningless if you have an owner who isnt a cheap scrooge because salary can be converted to signing bonus if the owner isnt too busy pinching pennies

Get er done!

Yeah, too bad JAX's input counts, right?

I'd give them Turner and a 4th. Mularkey talks like he doesn't even want MJD. Mularkey loves Turner so lets give him back. Our offense would be unstoppable. This trade just makes too much sense

I cant imagine why they wouldnt immediately offer a 1st

I dont know if JAX would take it though, the Packers 1st is basically an early a 2nd, they'll be picking around 30 anyways, and they still have no one to replace MJD

One of the reasons this trade could work is because they get a young draft pick like a 2nd to claim victory over MJD, AND they get a workhorse like Turner to replace MJD, run it 300 times and not let Gabbert be exposed

MM may value someone on our roster that we haven't thought of. He knows everbody.
So who knows something could happen. I have now moved off of the zero chance mode
of thought.

Ya a 4th round pick isnt going to get you anything

Turner + 2nd is real. Turner + 3rd wont get it done

This is about PR as much as anything else. Khan has chosen to go head to head with JAXs only good player. Trading him for some pathetic pic like that is a loss

If Khan can replace him with a proven RB like Turner AND get a 2nd round that could become a legit piece for the franchise, he can pretend he's won

Well by all means fly on down to JIA and try and convince Mr. Khan of what you're so sure of. Something tells me you and he won't see eye to eye.

Its pretty obvious MJD doesnt want to play for this horrible franchise that isnt going anywhere the rest of his career
Its pretty clear Khan isnt going to pay him or "cave" to his demands

We need to give Khan a way out

What do you think looks better for him?

1. No MJD, joke of a bust Gabbert goes out and stinks again, tanks the season, last 2 seasons complete joke, need to draft a QB in the top 10 and be a joke for the next few years

or

2. Lose MJD who wasnt going to play anyways, get Turner who can run it 300 times and protect QB investment from being exposed, in addition get a 2nd round pick which a horrible team desperately needs, replace a vet with another vet + a potential young star for the team
