[L.A. FALCON FAN]

L.A. Falcon Fan here, about 5 or 6 years ago I could remeber coming onto these boards and having debates with Direwolf, Death from Above (I hated him),  Gazoo, Banker Bird, Peyton, even Johnny Buc and yes im sure there are some people that I have forgotten. Since when did putting one players name in your topic titile automaticlly get you 10 pages guranteed? Since when did me being upset with how somebody is playing made me a hater?  Since when did Falcon Fans complain more about the Falcons then the Ain'ts or the Sucks.

For you long time posters do you notice how fans from other teams don't even have to troll on our boards anymore. We do a good enough job ourselves LMAO. Its such a shame. Keep things in prospective people at the end of the day we all have one thing in common, and thats to win a lombardi. You can tell what fans have not been with the Falcons that long, I can remeber the days of getting laughed at when I told people I was a Falcon Fan, I rember all of the losing seasons, so I am very appercitave of the direction that Mr.Blank has the team going.

Now  does me saying Matt needs to work on his deep ball or step up in big games make me a hater no. Does me complaining about it  in my threads 5000 times makes me a hater, yea maybe so. You guys need to quit all that nonsense. Well anyway Im super excited about the season and I already have my tickets to the Charger game in week 3, Section LV41 row 4. Its almost time to put the women and children to bed and see what we are made out of. My motto this season NO MORE EXCUSES..........

Times have changed. I just joined, but I've been reading these forums for a long time now. 90% of the people here are

- trolls
- other team fans
- haters
- people with no self esteem or morale
- trolls

It's sickening. Honestly, I'm only sticking around for the news and the rare insightful post from some of the true fans.

Dude, I honestly believe we have more fans of other teams on this board than there are actual Falcons fans. . . and I aint lying. Heck, I think we have just as many Taints and undercover Taints and Taint trolls as we do Falcons fans. Some of the "Falcons fans" are not Falcons fans at all; instead, they are posing as Falcons fans and are probably division rivals fans.

The only guy you  mention that I see hanging around these days is Peyton. He's still reasonable if not hilarious. Man I guess sometime between Vick and Ryan the board grew even more polarized. Not sure how it happened. I remember being pretty irritated after the '07 and '08 draft (common for me anyways) and left for a few months. Came back and WOW!!!

Not sure man. I have said a few times, the response that we give to guys who don't like something seems in part to help create more trolls. Then they start getting proxy accounts and that's where it gets nutty.

I do not like the 5000 thread on matt or TD. nor do I like someone who complains about 10+players on this team.

I mean if you hate TD for all his draft picks, then why are you a fan?
as for me I disliked a lot of players before the 2007 season, so that was why I was no a fan. I saw the move of the head coach, new GM, draft picks and FA pick ups.....and I liked that were going after good players who did not have drama. I was never a dan of BVG schemes, and went back and forth with murlarkey.

and I have had my share of calling a few people out for being taints fans. and one proved me his was very much right for what he was saying.

the only thing I fix is having to make so many post before making a blog AND for them to learn how to ban IP addresses and not just the one member. in all honesty I bet there is only like 3 trolls on here, and I bet they have 15 plus accounts each.

you know you might be right on this. just as I posted in my thread above.

oh well like I said any another blog.....I love being the under dog. I never get into when announcers say we are going 14-2 or 2-14 for the season. to me announcers are nothing but bandwagon fans every single year, so I just tune them out mostly.

Well you see man. That's one of the problems. You start questioning fanhood because guys don't like the GM. Which came first? The fanhood of the team or the GM? Is it then fair to say, "You are a fan of the GM, not the team." That's the issue of today that we didn't have nearly a decade ago when I joined the boards.

Even when winning guys may have had a dislike for McKay, Warrick Dunn, Mike Vick or whoever. Maybe most. I was seriously down on Jason Webster, but even more I questioned Brooking quite a bit. There were a few players I disliked back then and talked honestly about mistakes that McKay was making. It got no vitriol or disdain for the most part. It was just talk.

Even now, I like TD the man and like most of what's going on. I hate the way he drafts and don't care for the injured player list. Happens more than a little, but at the end of the day...I'm a huge fan! Bigger than you may think.

We've had trolls forever. Remember the guy that said he wanted to eat Jam's ACL? Birdweiserrrr, TonaBull. That was a long time ago.

The board has changed dramatically. Not sure if it's better or worse. Either way, you have people who are happy with the status quo and others who demand a change. The only difference is the way people go about voicing their opinion these days. I just read a caption thread where 1 stupid poster wrote 5 back-to-back posts dogging Roddy about drops. That is stupid. Questioning moves by the GM is not stupid. You know what is stupid? Questioning the GM's moves in every post you make.

There are posters here that love arguing with undercover rival trolls who baits the MB with some stupid topic about some player, coach or TD. This of course gives the taints and panties MBs enough material to laugh at us all day.

Atlanta's fanbase has a lot to do with the climate in the city itself. You have a lot of ppl saying we should have Vick back and Ryan is wack. I find that hilarious because Vick hasn't done anything since he's been back and he can't stay healthy. The Katrina disaster caused a lot of N.O. ppl to move to Ga so that completely destroyed the "homefield advantage". It was more Packers' fans in the Ga Dome during that playoff game. I heard it.


More and more ppl are moving to Atlanta. I see somebody that's actually from Atlanta once a month. There's your bandwagon fans right there. They'll root for Atlanta win their winning but come playoff time, they're Patriots', Packers, Giants' fans.


All of the complaining just comes from the "hoemotional" state of mind most of the males in this country is suffering from. I think it's something in the food. My older cousin is 40 now. He said he's never seen so much b*tchassness ever before in his life during the past 4 or 5 years.

@ FalconsFanSince1970, Im gonna have to disagree with you on that one. These boards have not changed for the better. I use to live on these boards and its much more watered down then it was back in the day. Much more hating going on. Maybe its just me but I don't ever remeber the boards being like this. Even when we had Vick.

I liked it better when there was in depth discussions and debates that never turned personal (or fictional for that matter) and was just pure breaking it down to the point.  I miss those days too.  Good to hear from ya again LA!

Nah, I would come on and at least 5 threads for Vick, 4 for Dunn vs Duckett, then when are we going to get a safety/WR about 4-5 times. Oh yeah, move Demorrio Williams to Safety.

Not arguing, just saying. The content of the threads were WAY different with quite a few valuable posts within.

These boards have definitely changed for the better.

Improvements since 2001:

-technical improvements galore - try to post a pic, embed a vid, alter font or add links back then. Laughable. Simple text board
-moderation - whoever thinks the mods are slack now wouldn't have survived the 2001 board. Trust me
-information - back then noone was trying to be a scoop and posting everything published in the last three minutes. Had to watch the 11:00 news
