His arm strength is sufficient.  The only issue I have is trajectory.  He won't throw a Rodgers back shoulder 40 yard missile; however, his arm is more than good enough.

Amazing. His accuracy can be a bit off sometimes on the deep ball but, i agree it's not as bad as people say it is.

Yeah, that accuracy on the deep ball needs huge improvement, but that's the only thing. Him working out in the gym might help but some zip on deep balls, but he definitely doesn't need it to deliver bombs. Just gotta work on that accuracy, and get his gunslinger mentality from BC, and 2008, then Ryan will be lethal as long as his protection is stout.

I think pass protection will help. Not having to throw off your back foot, or floating the ball to buy time would help with the accuracy issues.

I dont think its his arm strength,,, I think its his deep ball anticipation and accuracy.... I think that will come with more practicing deep baslls and calling more deep routes...

Look fellas. He can't throw the deep ball! Geeeeeeeeez. We are not going to win with him throwing the deep ball!

My thing is, let's see how far we can get with this new screen system that's coming in. That plus another year under Julio's belt and the ability to take that 4 yard hitch to pay dirt, we may be able to catch some people with their pants down.

First the philosophy the MM drove in Matt's head to take what the defense give you has to change it sounds like something you would say to a game manager like QB Alex Smith. Koetter's vertical package should help with that to as his playbook should have plays that are designed to give Matt the opportunity to throw the deep ball when he is comfortable with throwing it and not the other way around. so if Matt when he goes through his progressions sees that Julio, Roddy or Douglas is open down field he can chuck it up there or he will have a quick out with a screen or short to intermediate route with in the play that he can go to if it does not look good to him in what he sees.

What we should be hoping for is that he is not like Alex smith who had plenty of chances to throw the deep ball in a few games in 2011 but was to scared to do so and it may have been one of the problems that caused them the Giants game because he had opportunities but didn't seem to have the comfort level to test the DBs and make the throw to his receivers. The more opportunities he takes advantage of the better he will get down the stretch because they will be there for him under koetter because the passing attack is something Koetter believes heavily in but did not have a chance to implement it in Jax so we will no longer be able to blame MM it will be on Ryan's comfort level this 2012 season under Koetter.

what a laugher......

so the deep pass has been foreign to him his whole life, and he has just started playing qb.
he has thrown 10s of thousands of deep passes in his life. Would yall get over the fact he doesnt have a cannon and has to launch it at such a trajectory that the ball floats and is inaccurate because it resembles a punt.

works on his reps....WTF??

9th out of 32 in almost all the rankings I've seen, but don't you have a bounty program you can ignore and deny it's existence on your boards?
