If we take care of business with this schedule there is no reason we can't come out of the box 6-0. The toughest games (Denver, Carolina, Oakland) are all at home. The only scary part to me is San Diego on the coast.

This is totally different from the gauntlet we began with last season.

But then it gets real....fast

We sure could use that cushion when we face the main players in the East.

.Oh, wait -- he also gets Michael Vick, Tony Romo and Drew Brees (twice). So he's really going to be able to -- oh ... um ... and Eli Manning and Matthew Stafford are on the slate, too. Is there really any way he's going to succeed this season with that murderer's row of quarterbacks staring him in the face?

^^^^ we will need to be 6-0 when we deal with that mess.

There is a chance we drop the first game if we can't stop the running game of KC,

Eh, San Diego always starts slow and ATL actually plays really well on the west coast. I'm not worried.

San Diego has only beat us like once or twice in history. We tend to play them well no matter how good they are.

remember this 4-0 against the AFC west going in. Payton just may be playing on the wrong team in 2012 and he is in our house this time around.

The road trip to SD after MNF will be tough, but 6-0, 5-1 is very possible. We will need a good start because our backhalf is difficult

I'm more worried about KC, Arrowhead is a **** hard place to play and you add in the excitement of it being their opener, that's a tough tough game.

They're not a bad team either. There is a lot of talent in KC.

Exactly. Out of all the potential teams to play on the road in week 1, this could be the toughest. The defense may take a step back without Brandon Carr but they'll get Charles back, and they played a lot better under Romeo. We will have to show up on both sides of the ball to win this game and be mentally prepared for one of the toughest environments you can imagine in the NFL.

In all actuality,   Atlanta needs a Kansas City game early.   They need to put everyone on notice and do it EARLY.   I can't think of a better time than Week 1.    Shut down Peyton and Denver on National TV the following week and someone will have to take notice.

I'll wait until I see a few preseason games to gauge whether I should worry about KC or the season ahead altogether.

I think this is a loss but we rebound against Denver after Pitt pulverizes PM.  5-1 start.

Any team can win any given sunday. I truly hope we are 6-0 but we could easily be 3-3 to start the season.

May not mean anything, but ATL has the highest winning pct against San Diego, than any other team in their history - 7-1(.875). KC game at Arrowhead has me more worried. Don't know about 6-0, but 5-1, imo, is quite possible.
