Would you take Jimmy Graham?

With what we do with our offense, no I wouldn't, the TE position for us isn't just a big WR running down the seem if he cant block he is basically.useless.to us, as you csn see other than Gonzo we don't use our other TEs in the passing gm. Gonzo can also block tho....

Yes it can,be taught to block it isn't an impossible task to teach but with a 2nd round pick especially without a first you want a sure thing as you can get.

That's MM's offense you are talking about. Yes, we are still going to be balance, but I bet if we take a TE, he will be a marginal blocker but a good WR threat. This needs to become Matt Ryan's team and blocking TEs don't help QBs, pass catching TEs do. The only reason you concern about the blocking ability of a TE is if he is going to be doing that more than catching. Yes, it's great to have a TE who is going to be able to do both, but at this point in the NFL, top offenses have TEs with WR like ability. Jimmy Graham was good enough of a blocker for the Saints to have a top 10 rushing attack.

We need a TE high in this draft to ride the bench about as much as we need a backup QB taken this high. Translation: We don't.

It only makes sense for the Colts to draft him as someone to have chemistry with Andrew Luck. He ran like a blazing 4.5 at his pro day, so his stock went up and Orson Charles went down.

I wouldn't mind Orson, though.

I believe he wrote "belcher" intentionally...as in a burp - belch.
He did it in the title and in his post.
Reading is for suckers....lol.

That is correct.
So as I read yet another article that points out D-Rob as an albatross,
this again is no different than being at a Frat House Kegger.
You  all know the sounds and smells.

If he makes it past the 1st round, I wouldn't be surprised if we jump up in the first half of the 2nd round and draft him.

their blocking and size are pretty much equal. the route running isn't the same, however size and hands are very comparable.

So this player would then become our Highest Value Pick of the draft,
over and above other positions of need?

out of everything you can teach a TE, Blocking is one that I'm not worried about. He is willing to block. technique isn't there just yet but at least he works at it. He will get it eventually. That being said, he can do everything else well. HE has great hands, is a matchup issue at 6'6" 250 pounds and has excellent speed.
willingness is half the battle. TG, wire frame and all, is one of the best blocking TEs in the game for a rook to learn from.

that said, i highly doubt Fleener falls to us. if he does, great, but otherwise i would prefer a later round developmental upside guy to learn from TG this year.

not even close.
Meier is 6'2" 220
Gonzalez is 6'5" 250. That's 3 inches and 30 pounds of difference.

Our offense is going to be the same, just add more vertical and screen plays into it, its veen said we arent making a drastic change to the offense,

With our 2nd pick I would rather not take a TE,

Jimmy Graham, Marcus Colston, Moore, Henderson are all a product of the scheme they are in, nothing more, I rather have no of them on this Squad(personal opinion)

Meachem will b exposed as nothing.more than a #3 in SD. And everyone will realize they are a product of that scheme, I would HATE to seem Graham in Our Offense.

Yup I've always wondered about Meier's ability to play TE he has great hands good enough speed to play TE and be a threat.

It's an interesting quandry to have with Meier.

I would rather we get a guard or d-tackle with the second round pick and then come back and get Ladarrius Green with our third.

He won't fall to #55. Orson Charles is a more likely target.
