You have a small point, but when you add the "because gays are bad" you are putting words into his mouth. All he was simply stating is that he is a heterosexual man that thinks being gay is "not as good" as being straight. If you were correct, then it would appear that Roddy is saying.. "I would rather win a Super Bowl because no one wants to lead the league in stats, because leading the league in stats is bad." See how that sounds? Don't put words in his mouth, he has a hard enough time already with what he actually says.

Fair enough, I can take that criticism of my post! And IF, as some people are claiming, Roddy's statement was a clever, thought-provoking response designed to make people question their own security or outlook, then hats off to him. But this is Roddy White we're talking about, he doesn't exactly have a history of smart tweets!
I'm no gay-rights activist, but I just found it astounding so many people seem willing not only to turn a blind eye, or to say "if you don't like it, don't read it", but actually applaud these comments. What if Matt Ryan, in response to a similar question said, "Would you rather be White or Black?", because I don't think it's much different...
What if there was a homosexual player in the Falcons team? How would he feel about Roddy's comments?
I too get frustrated with an overly-PC approach to issues, but when you are an idol for so many people, (regardless of whether you want to be), such comments are unhelpful to say the least in moving towards a more tolerable and accessible NFL society.
