I know I'm gonna get hit with "who cares what a player does off the field". But just thought I'd share... I found it quite funny how some people are reacting to this. I personally like the way roddy isn't afraid to speak his mind.

Well technically unless someone is bi-sexual there is a definitive answer to the question. Which is his whole point. A gay man would obviously rather be gay, a straight man would obviously rather be straight. Roddy never said which one was "right" or "wrong". Just because someone uses the word "gay" in a sentence, doesn't make them homophobic. But seriously, whoever wrote that article is a queer.

it was obviously some deep insight by roddy that deals with the every day troubles and stereotypes that a gay person faces. obviously, most people who are gay would rather be straight.

I actually don't think what he said was acceptable at all, and I am surprised to see so many people defending him. I am a fan of the Falcons and of Roddy White, and I am heterosexual, but people in the public eye should choose their words on twitter more responsibly.

If Roddy said "oh come on, don't be gay", then I would say it was unfortunate but forgiveable because of the way people use the term without thinking, but he is saying "no-one should ever want to be gay, because gays are bad", and that is not acceptable from someone in his position!

* Falcanuck, you make a sound logical point, but it doesn't appear to me that Roddy has used that approach...

(cue all the "you're gay" insults that may follow this post....)

Well, before all of the "you're gay" insults do arrive, let me just say I agree with you.  Roddy's off-base here, and I too am surprised to see so many people defending him.

I don't care what position your placed in, your still entitled to your opinion. No one can take that away from you. Plus if you don't wanna hear what a guy has to say then you DEFINITELY don't wanna follow him on twitter. He wasnt trying to offend anyone.

BS.  People with an agenda will hop on anything to further their agenda.   Roddy's tweet was something any guy would say.  He's famous, so there's a chance to grab some attention by nitpicking it.

I think they get offended when people ridicule or mock them.  I wonder why that is.  I can't figure it out.

on this one. most gay men would prefer to be straight because it is more socially acceptable and they wouldn't be bashed as much.
