But he'd just leave a note posted outside of Benson's door saying he's terribly sorry for leaving, and that it was a painful decision, but he had to go join LSU and party with the girls.

Why are Atlanta fans so dead-set upon projecting thier failures onto us? If the aim is ensuring we don't go anywhere come January why not just send Smitty to take the reigns?

Its probably minimizing NFL fans to think that they would think the Saints would be severely harmed by these actions this year.
They have an entire offseason to make adjustments, they have a great team that shouldve been in the Super Bowl last year, they made great signings in free agency.. they will be fine.
Players win football games... good coaches get out of the way.
The Saints will be very competitive this year cause they have the talent.
I dont think any intelligent fan would think any differently.
PS: Belichick was a failure in Cleveland before he went to N.E.
The Saints could do a lot worse than Petrino.
The guy is an offensive genius who could probably add a few wrinkles to an offensive powerhouse.
