My momma used to say that the 1 thing more dangerous than a tiger was a wounded tiger.

The Sinners, I mean Saints, are going to have a HUGE chip on their shoulder this year. This is a team with double motivation to come out swinging this season. Don't be surprised is they are as competitive as ever, as long as the interim coach does not screw up the process.

I look forward to the South being as contentious as ever with the Succs, Panties, and Stains trying just as hard to step on our throats as we want to throttle them.  Anybody that thinks we'll have easy wins over them hasn't paid attention to the rivalry.

With that said, I'll close with the eloquent words of Statick before me: "**** 'em".

I am sure they have a chip on their shoulder.......... but the fact remains they have not signed their franchise player.
Have done NOTHING to improve their biggest issue which is pass defense , nor have they addressed their pass rush and they have little money left as well as not picking till late in the third round.

Their coaching and front office is in shambles.
Not to mention the sheer media  blitz that they will have game in and game out......which we know full well how much of a distraction a media blitz can be. Answering the same questions week in and week out starts to

Should we count them out? No because they are still an nfl team but if they finish higher then 5-11 I will be shocked.

the saints will still rip teams a new one with drew brees and that offense. the defense has added some good players in bunkley and lofton. sure the suspensions will hurt but I'd be shocked if they weren't competing for a playoff spot.

Sheesh, I'm not that optimistic.  I believe Brees won't miss a day of TC, He'll sign his tender.  With all their weapons, they won't have much of a drop-off offensively.

Defensively, they'll struggle.  I predict their defense to be a league leader in penalties, as the refs will be quick to throw the flag.

Honestly, the Saints defense has always been, meh.  Even the year they won the SB, the defense still gave up a ton of points.

I see them at 11 or 12 wins, I hate to say it.

They might have a huge chip on their shoulder, but the refs will likely be on flag parade against them

I don't care if they went 0-16 the last 20 seasons. The Saints rivalry is more than just football. It's personal. Looking past a division foe should be a firable offense. Looking past the Aints is worse.

You guys are discounting how much of a loss Payton will be, he's the one who gets the gameplan and practice completely planned

like my old man used to say, on any given sunday....

I sure won't count em out, I wouldn't count out an 0-11 team going into week 12 either.
should we win the division, of course. But They sure could contend for it and likley be a wild card

bunkley and lofton help their Run D but do NOTHING to improve their pass d.

Bunkley has a whopping 6 sacks in  6 years, The ability of Lofton's pass defense has been  debated here at great lengths . But he is NOT an improvement  in that area..

Not to mention what Zodiac mentioned.
THEN add to  the questions about not only the questions about the Bounty but if Brees even misses one day of  TC, Add on the media frenzy of the hold out.

The saints could rally and be great but honestly if you look at everything I highly highly doubt it.

Not to mention the player suspensions that are coming down, which will have a much greater impact than the coaches suspensions.

I don't know. In light of all of this they better be scared during the preseason against teams they have targeted and they better not play the Vikings or Cardinals.

Payton will be hamstrung by being barred from the Saints facility and games, but you'd better believe he'll find a way to have his fingerprints all over the game plans.  He didn't get where he is by following the rules.

Lol in this division it doesn't matter if a team is on a 20 game losing streak, you can still win/lose any Sunday.

I'm not counting out any team in our division.
It's a long way till the season opener and we're all 0 - 0.
Right now i cant say that we're a better team than any one of them.
There's many a slip between a cup and a lip.
