"That was the situation. The guy has to go to the team that want’s him more. The Saints wanted me more, so that’s where I went."

"Gold was one of my colors in high school. We used to wear the black uniforms and Atlanta stopped doing that. I always wanted to wear the black uniforms so I’m excited about it. I can’t wait to get down there."

"Not at all. I wasn’t there when the bounty stuff went down. I have no issue with that."

"They are kind of taking on the mentality that it’s “us verses them.” That’s how I feel and can’t wait to be a part of it."

"When you go to a team, it would be dumb not to think that you don’t have a better chance to win a Super Bowl with that team. I feel like Atlanta and the Saints have been evenly matched. But I really feel like there is more talent with the Saints. I will say that."

I really don't like him anymore.

I was more shocked that he said that the falcons had indeed offered him a contract and had talks about re-signing. According to many people here, the falcons and the new D coordinator didn't think he fit in their plans, or didn't think much of him as a player, and let him walk without any attempt to keep him a falcon. Go figure....

I liken this to Charles Johnson last year. Johnson was clear that we offered him a contract but that he took the larger one that Carolina offered. Same thing here, we wanted him, but he wanted more money. That was essentially the only thing that mattered other than being on a team with a winning record, which is why he avoided Tampa bay.

I think most people figured Lofton was offered a deal, but not the money he was after.  Rumor had it that Nolan considered him one-dimensional and TD would therefore offer him two-down money.

The team that wants him more, obviously, is the team that offers him the most money.

It sounds like to me he will fit in fine with NO because the natural hate is there between him and the Falcons

#1 Nolan put him out on front street by announcing through the media that he was taking Lofton off of the nickel packages. That would imply to Lofton that Nolan does not trust his coverage skill as a 3 down lineman and in turn hurt his amount of time on the field just being a two down backer so he now hate Nolan for not believing in him.
#2 according to a recent interview he did the other day after the signing he said that TD and Smitty said that he would be a Falcon for life well since they didn't want to overpay him to be a two down thumper he figures they lied about that.
#3 He wants to be able to prove Nolan wrong about their decision to let him walk without at least franchising him.

I wish him the best but I think that he made a mistake in not excepting the Falcons offer because I don't see NO winning anything ant time soon they can't even get a guy to step up an coach this SB winning team that he says has more talent then we do.

Let's be honest here. Any team with Drew Brees as their QB, has a better shot at the Super Bowl than us.

With that being said, after Roger Goodell laid that smack down, they don't stand a good chance at making it there. I still think we stand a better chance with Nolan.

You don't know me Swamp Gas.

I pull for the logo.

Lofton barely meant more to me when he was here then he does now.

I'm happy for you though that you get internet access in the public library.
