i was waiting to get this off my chest when things on here cooled down a bit. but here it is. im 28 live in rochester ny , 45 minutes from buffalo. ive been a falcons fan since around 6 or 7 when my father took me to my first bills game, against the falcons. since then i am die hard no matter what. spent thousands of dollars and jerseys hats you name it. my girl took me to my first falcons game and got my front row behind the falcons bench against the bengals 2 years ago. WISH i could move to atl and go to every falcons game and live in the city. instead

i go to bills games, bills training camp just to get my tatse of the nfl. and ill tell you all. Buffalo, rochester , cuse. they go nuts over the bills! its .....amazing to see. this mario signing, and hopes for next season is just awesome to see these bills fans around here. pure love for the team. no matter what. they could have no signed mario. and still the games get sold out most of the time. the tailgating is insane.

my point is yes buffalo and the city of rochester....suck campared to WHAT YOU HAVE! you " fans" dont understand what you have. im sorry but most " fans" dont appreciate the city of atlanta and its teams. its proven in the latest forbes poll. UNDERSTAND im not talking bad about atlanta . i will always be a falcons fan superbowl or not.

i know its frustrating....we havent made any moves in FA...look at what you do HAVE. a great city a great team that no matter what u love and will watch every sunday or maybe even lucky enough to go attend every home game! show your city and team your behind them no matter what

I'm in the same boat bro.I to am from NY... ALBANY BABY(although I live in Pittsburgh now). I grew up in a family full of Giants and Jets fans and had to go to the Medowlands in order to see NFL games.

Now living in Pittsburgh and surrounded by a die hard fan base that is used to being one of the top franchises in the NFL makes me want success for the Falcons even more.

Amen Brotha!  I live in Rochester as well and it's unreal how much support the Bills have in this area despite the fact that they are year in and year out picking in the top 10 in the draft and have a joke of an owner in Ralph Wilson.

Just seeing the passion some fans have out here and the positive attitude they have no matter what their season outlook is just makes me sick seeing the amount of negativity on this board.

We as Falcons fans have a class act organization from top to bottom, and rather than crying our eyes out that we didn't get the free agents you wanted or didn't draft the player you thought we would, appreciate what TD, Smitty, Arthur Blank and the rest of our team has done here and show some humility.  Yes we had another early playoff exit, but the team is doing what it thinks is right to make us better with the scenario laid out in front of them.

I understand that this is a message board and you are all entitled to your opinion, I am just voicing mine.

Realize where we were compared to the teams going into '07 that I would argue are at or near the same level as us going into '12.

The Giants were fresh off their super bowl win.
The Patriots almost three-peated with a perfect season.
The Packers lost in OT to the Giants
The Steelers and Ravens both made it to the dance.

Think of how much turnover as far as players, not to mention coaching staff, we have gone through in those four years and then compare to teams like the giants, patriots and steelers.

They all had the same Quarterback, same defensive leader(s) and same head coach.  They have built their teams around those puzzle pieces and have done so for the better part of a decade.  With the exception of I would say Abe, every significant player on our team has been with the team less than 5 years.

We have most of the pieces in place, we just need to find the right complimentary parts to make this machine run the way it's supposed to, and whether it's the players currently on the roster or players we bring in, the FO knows that a **** of a lot better than myself or anyone else for that matter, so rather than get yer panties in a knot about it, just sit back and enjoy the show!

you always hear about the fans of the bills about how passinate they are. they have never won a superbowl. people always say, even on this forum ive seen people saying buffalo wont have the bills much longer and how bad the team is, and even with mario they wont make playoffs. sure that my be true and even the people around here "know" that but its exciting to them!

i went to bills patriots last year...( my girl is nuts about the bills" anyway. the beat the pats that sunday and the place was shaking! the players were on the field for a half hour after the game running around the field with giant bills flags, and david nelson stood on the 50 yrd line just feeding off the fans...i sound like a bills fan i know lol. but im a fan of the support and ...whatever it is the fans here in western ny have.

i just really want to atleast give the people of atlanta a glimpse into what pure love for the team, players ,owners averyone on the falcons .

you guys will know what i mean when i say.....you could live in rochester ny!

i dont know if atlanta still has them but when i got to go to atlanta for my first game i bought the falcons lotto tickets from a gas station and kept the got home and laminated them! yeah it may sound stupid to some. i bought the white ATL hat at the game in the dome, and got it signed by matt ryan after the game ( almost fainted) i bought a 100 dollar hat display case to put it in. that hat and time i had will always mean more than any superbowl would ...to me. im 28 years old and almost pissed my pants when i first saw the dome!

I wish we had a die-hard fan base as well, unfortunately we have a bunch of fair weather fans. Love you when you're good, hate you when you're bad. I live about 30 minutes from ATL and am fans of all of our sports teams but it's like this in every sport here, heck look what happened to the Thrashers, and I LOVED the thrashers, but that's the reason they left. Not enough support.

I had my first trip to the dome last year when they played the Saints... They didn't win but Justin Blalock took the time to take a picture with me after the game when he was pulling out of the parking lot in his Escalade.

I'm a Rochester Falcon Fan myself.....21 years if my count is correct.

The population around these boards has never been the smartest or the best.  There are some absolute top notch posters and some total dogs.  But I think thats how any group of football fans shakes out.

Personally, I've been a bit disappointed with our approach to this off season simply because we seemed to say that we were going to attack a bit more than we have.  I have all the trust in the world in the front office and I'm not blind to the fact that this is a team that's averaged 10+ wins a year in the current regime. And I'm trying to remember all the problems I had with scheming every single week this past season. With upgrades at coordinator we SHOULD be better.  But I'm still hoping we can do something to fix a trouble area before the draft. A McNeil signing would be nice....and picking up some bargain help along the front 7 would be nice as well.

The bottom line is the people that are freaking out don't understand the game of football nearly as well as they think they do. Those people will ALWAYS be there. Just the way it goes.

the falcons will always be a team i believe. but you fans from atl . could you imagine, even if it takes you an hour to drive to a game. imagine them ...leaving. and not having them.

it upsets me very much when i hear (seen) fans not even getting in there seats for kick off. when i went the guy sitting next to me , no lie was sleeping 3rd and 4th q.

again i dont mean to go on and on. but please atleast read this and understand. i know its hard to . but the best thing each and every one of you can do on this forum is support them. we all love them so show it it will do more for them as a team that any free agent or draft pick can.

Happy for the Bills fans.  They were never my team, but I always had a soft spot for them because they were the local team.  As much as I'd like to see Toronto get a NFL franchise, I don't want it at the sacrifice of a small town success story like the Bills.

Fair weather fans??

Teams leave cities that don't win. It's common sense. Fans want to support a winner, that's all there is to it. I live outside of Toronto Canada. Hockey rules up here (it's sickening). The Blue Jays never sell out because they don't win. The Raptors never sell out. People up here don't really care to watch the Bills either even though we'd love to have a team up here because the Bills aren't a team that stands out right now. When those teams were winning, you couldn't find a ticket to their games. I'm a huge Falcons fan, and when I watch games, I wonder why the stands are NEVER full. Winning brings fans. Regardless of what the Falcons do. They're my favorite team in all of sports. All I guess I'm saying is that if an organization can't get over the hump or can't find a way to put ***** in the seats, why would someone want to support that??

As a fan, I'm VERY passionate about teams I support. When the Falcons lose, I take it personal. Not everyone is the same though, but we all want what's best for the team. Just my opinion

To me, the biggest change that needed to be made this offseason was made before the free agency period began.  I believe Nolan and Keotter will get us that elusive playoff win and possibly a Super Bowl appearance.

My offseason agenda set after the Giants pissing:
1. Fire coordinators
2. HD Resigned
3. Mario wasn't signed
4. Wanted Nicks, but TB can have him for what they paid him
5. Have a great draft and get ready for the 2012 season

Always nice to find Falcons fans up in these parts. We should take over a bar for a game next year.

I grew up about a mile from Rich (Ralph Wilson) Stadium, where I live now I could still walk there. I've been a Falcons fan since about '88 and cant stand the Bills... yet I could only wish Falcons fans had the same passion for their team that Bills fans do. That stadium will sell out during a blizzard even though the Bills suck.

When you see things about Buffalo having the best fans, or the best tailgaiting... it is absolutely true.

For all of you fans up North (I didn't know Buffalo had that many fans there), we do support our team. Arthur Blank knows it. When the ticket prices go up, we still buy 70,000 of them. The fact is, a lot of our fans are young as we are still in the 2nd generation of Falcons fans. What you see on this board, or what you might consider 'being unsupportive' primarily comes from our younger fans. You see, one thing is though, when it comes down to Sunday, those same hasty fans cheer on the Falcons regardless. What Forbes said was right though, Atlanta is a miserable sports city. We Atlanta sports fans have experienced so much disappointment. The Hawks can win 55 games and do nothing in the playoffs. The Braves can choke the wild card away and the Falcons have developed this thing for losing to teams with an smaller winning percentage in the playoffs. This city has never known postseason success and the teams we have don't really deserve the support they do get, but they get it anyway.
