I wasn't necessarily talking about racist "groups", rather, racist individuals.  I just used the tea party as an example because it's probably the most popular of their absurd accusations.

Considering the history of white supremacy in this country and the impact it has had on it, combined with it being more prevalent, it's not really hard to understand.

What's not hard to understand?  Their false accusations?  You think just because white supremacy existed in this country in the past, it's ok to accuse every white conservative of being racist?  That's like saying because the Black Panthers were largely leftists, that every black liberal is racist... but you wouldn't like that would you?

I wouldn't either, because neither would or do have any credibility.

Easy there boy wonder. You said the media focused on reporting on white supremacists, and I explained why. Never said most or all white conservatives are racist.

First off let me do the obligatory "both sides do it"

When McCain was running for re-elections I remember seeing Black guys driving around with stickers that said "Crush The Cracker- Obama '08"

Except all the SUV's had tinted windows and 26 inch rims...

Again to be clear..

Both sides do it...

It's made up B.S. because I never said anything advocating "socialized oil and welfare gas" whatsoever.  Just more trolling.

So you know, Diesel is the new screen name of a poster named snake, who was banned from the board for spamming.

Steve and snake have repeatedly claimed that the current administration is responsible for increased gas prices, and that Obama should lower gas prices by interfering in the machinations of the market for petroleum. They state that increased drilling will lower prices, which has proven to be false.

The logical extension of this complaint is that the government should interfere in the market in such a way as to provide cheaper gas. In every instance I can recall, Steve, in particular, has claimed that more government intervention equates to a greater role of socialism in government. People have pointed out the obvious hypocrisy of their request for government intervention to lower gas prices.

Their response has been to continually assert that, contrary to factual evidence, more drilling on US soil would bring about lower prices in the US market. They also fail to account for the fact that the US currently pays far lower rates than the rest of the world, and that any petroleum produced, refined or transported through the US would go into that world market, where higher prices dominate.

They then go on to suggest that the US government should drill for oil on public lands, which would, ironically, be the government controlling the actual means of production.

It's also worth pointing out that amid these cries for government assistance, snake recently purchased a large, inefficient SUV.

For the record I have never recommended nationalizing oil.  If that is Diesel's view then we disagree on this topic.  So please stop accusing me of wanting to nationalize the oil industry, I have never said that.

Asking that the government drill on public land is a cry for socialism.

I would hardly call it "more prevalent." It still exists but not the point it did in the past. Bigotry is alive and well and once people understand the differences between the 2 (racism and bigotry) then more intelligent conversations on the topic can take place.

No, I don't think there is much doubt about that at all. Mind blowing though that idiots like that are still running around.

Isn't that the book that people study on Sunday mornings while Steve sits at home telling the interwebz how liberals hate Christianity?
