I may be wrong and you right about the blowing smoke part ok.  And I do agree with you about this team being BUILT for a 4-3.  But look at what our defense needs.   Starting DE (some would say two...).  Starting MLB (Lofton is reported as a goner, unfortunately).  Nickel CB (practically a starter these days).  And you could make an argument that despite all the money devoted to CBs, we still have issues with our two starters.

Our team may have been BUILT for the 4-3, but with all those issues has it been built successfully?  There is a big difference.
this defense was a top 10 defense latlst year, so im going to have to say yes it was a successful.. theres not fact that our DEs can stand up other then beerman.. sid is a 43 end, so is matthews and def edwards... Ppl say babs is a 34De, maybe but i dnt think so.. him and jerry are doing wat they do, be one gap penetrators...

Theres advantages and disavldvantages to playing both schemes, thats why you see some teams run a hybird defense(implementing here)...

No I don't think a 34 is right for us now I gotta think especially in the secondary we will play tighter in coverage and if Nolan brings the same sought of physicality his's secondary played with in Miami i think this improves the back end a lot.I to agree the move from  a 43 specific team in an off season is a big ask I want to see how aggressive Nolan is with what we have in a 43.i think we will blitz more and if we get a big time pass rusher I want to see how Nolan use's this piece.

Personally I think Nolan simpliyfies alot of things we do this year he use's players to there strengths doesn't make them into what there not.
