They need to bring back classic and championship teams.  I miss being able to play with some of the greats in their prime, Like the '98 Falcons!

Yeah that was cool. Remember the old training camp drills?

Yeah! That was always funny! I remember doing the old training camp thingy and then getting drafted to a team on the old sega.

I know a lot of people didn't like it but i liked the QB cone or vision.  It made it harder on Qbs because the defensive player could see where he was throwing to.  You actually had to look off the defender in the game.  People complained about it though.........

I loved it! Wish they would put it back in! They shouldn't have done away with it. Just had an option to turn it off if you didn't like it.

I can't remember the last time I actually enjoyed a Madden game.  2008 maybe???  Just guessing.

It has gotten pretty ridiculous.

Even NCAA was starting to get much better, but 2012 was just terrible.  Really hoping they do a better job with 2013.

I thought NCAA 12 was much better than 11. But I feel ya about Madden. I'm yet to play a Madden on PS3 that I really enjoyed. I think the last time I really enjoyed Madden was 2004 or 2005.

Some stuff was better, but overall I thought it was worse than 2011.  Recruiting was worse, gameplay took a hit imo.  They did a good job improving the play of DBs but in the process LBs became NBA centers and would jump 6 feet in the air to knock down a pass or intercept it.  Swear I've never seen LBs so good in pass coverage.

Presentation got better, which it has every year with NCAA... they just need to do some extensive work on the commentators.  Play a few games and you've heard everything they will ever say.  They still don't comment on hot players very well or talk about a real difference maker in pregame... usually just whoever is highest rated and not on the OL.

I do think NCAA has come a long way though... I think it's now a better football game than Madden, actually.  I just don't know what they think they are doing with Madden.  NFL2K needs to come back so there can be some competition.  They just push crap out because they know millions of people will buy it.

I thought a big jump they made was improving the running game. You can now actually run the ball very good on 12 now. But everything else you said is spot on.

Lol i forgot all about team ecko, they were rediculous!

Part of the problem with the new madden games are that they have no competition.  Ever since they gained exclusive rights to the NFL their games have gotten worse and less advances were made.

I Miss The Old MiniCamps, Then You Put Your Stats Up Depending On What Trophy You Got.

My Favorite One Was The DB Drill, The One You Gotta Deflect Or Intercept The Ball.

And I Miss The Old Progression Style, Wich Was Every 5 Weeks. The New System Is Dumb

In My Opinion Because Players Regress And Progress Every Week, Not Only During The

Offseason   Posted Image

Yeah those drills were cool. My favorite was the passing drill. Trying to throw to the right receiver will dodging the balls being shot at you.

In my opinion, that last good Madden was 2004.  I still play it to this day, and I have 2011.  I never get tired of starting a franchise and rebuilding season by season, stting prices and building stadiums at the proper time.  My only complaint is that franchises relocate way too early, but as far as gameplay goes, Madden 04 was by far the best.

The BS in the new Maddens is so dramatic that I just literally quit playing them.  The only time I ever play a newer Madden is if a friend comes over and wants to play, but '04 will never be matched.

I've often thought that a new Madden would be incredible if it had current gen graphics, but used the '04 engine.  It's not just the features of '04 that I like, but the actual gameplay engine is superb.  Very few complaints and RARE BS situations.  New Maddens have BS every single play (hitting the button to throw to a receiver but the QB pumps and gets sacked, DE/LB inches from a QB - hit tackle button and your defender just stops and falls rather than sacking the QB, and way too many other examples of BS).

I couldn't agree more. 2004 was the best although I would say 2001 [first year on ps2] is a very close 2nd for me. I absolutely hate how easy it is to get sacked because the QB pump fakes instead of throwing the ball. And when you go to dive to tackle somebody how your guy just kinds of dives right in mid-air and falls on the ground right at the same spot you dove from. Horrible!
