meh 3rd person multiplayer.

ill just get this for the single player.
It's not bad, I'm just not sure how much long term value it will have going off what's present in the multiplayer demo.  I really like that it's co-op... I just don't think there are enough people NOT committed to COD and BF3 online to make it a thriving community.

They have done a pretty good job putting the Mass Effect world together in ways that don't involve Shepard at all.  A new proper game entry in the Mass Effect universe through the eyes of someone other than Shepard would be really refreshing actually.

I always thought Liara taking over the role of a certain someone would provide some amazing possibilities.

ME4 could be based on Shepard's son, at least that's how I would do it.

He could have a son or daughter from the love interest in ME3.. ME4 could be like 25 to 30 years after the reaper invasion. At least that is how I would do it.

I need to play ME2. I played the ME3 and was amazed. Is ME2 that gorgeous?

Yeah, Mass Effect has been a beautiful game from the start.  ME2 stepped it up and it looks like ME3 is as well.  I thought they did a pretty good job of capturing the hectic environment of Earth being attacked.  Should be an amazing game.

I would recommend playing the series from the start, though each game technically can stand on its own with pre-built backstory as you start your Shepard character.  If you start with Mass Effect and then play through ME2 you will witness many of the important events leading up to ME3 and the people who die or stay alive through your adventure and the decisions you make will carry over.

If you don't want to go all the way back through the first game, ME2 does come with a good comic-style summary of prior events and lets you make decisions at some of the major parts of the original Mass Effect.

I always hate it.  Day 1 DLC is like charging for crap that should have been included.  Like oh you just spent $60 on our product?  Well here, spend some more on marginally valuable content.

I could care less for Day 1 DLC that's armor, weapons, clothing, etc but when a character that's supposed to be in the game became a DLC.

It's all supposed to be in the game and was taken out to be DLC.

Still not as bad as the crap Activision pulled with MW2, selling maps that were already on the disc.

BioWare says the game is playable from start to finish without the DLC, similar to what they did with Zaeed.  I didn't even use Zaeed on my team.  I'm willing to bet this is the same type of thing.  Nothing at all worth the negative attention it's getting.

Apparently the DLC was developed by a separate team during the production/test/bug fix phase of MW3, but the decision to release it as part of the Collector's edition and as day 1 DLC has people convinced it's part of the core story.

The Prothean will have a bigger role then Zaeed did. After all his people are now the collectors.

You honestly think the DLC will be of dire importance to the story?  People actually believe this?  If it was it wouldn't be optional DLC and a collector's edition bonus.  I hate that it isn't just included with the disc on principle... but to think this DLC will adversely affect players experiences who don't have it is illogical.
