Traveling to Atlanta from Canada, have been a falcons fan for a long time.   My wife has a conference in Atlanta and since her work pays for me to tag along, here i come.  Now it's too bad that the season is over  ( i will get to a home game one day Posted Image )  but i was wondering if anyone here could recommend some must do activities ( I plan to tour the dome already).  They don' t have to be falcons related but just some cool things in the area.

I also plan to stock up on the Falcons gear so where is the best place to go for that?

Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks,

Had a Great trip to Atlanta, but was very disappointed in the Lack of Falcons Presence.

It was extremely hard to find any sort of Falcons merchandise or even people that knew where to go to find it.  I was told by the staff at the Georgia Dome to go to the Lenox Mall to the Falcons 365 store since there is not a store in the dome.  I went it has been closed for 3 years   So the mall staff there, looked online and sent me to the Perimeter mall, and there is nothing..  Is there no falcons store at all?  Seems to me to be a very bad marketing scheme. I went to CNN and there were Hawks and Braves Stores, seems to me the Falcons need to step it up. It's great to have a online store, but that does not generate any sort of excitement in your home city and is quite useless to visitors,

I know it's off season but I would bet money on finding a store that is open in most ( if not all) the other NFL home stadiums.  How much can that cost in the grand scheme of things, to have a store open and running.

To top it all off, I head to the Georgia Dome to take the tour and they tell me that they will not be running tours that day! ( some flunky decided).   I had looked it up on the dome's website and had phoned to confirmed that the tours were back running, I don't think there was anything else i could have done.

All in all very disappointing falcons trip.

Truly sorry to hear about your trip to Atlanta.  Falcons gear is sold primarily in sports stores such as *****, Sports Authority, Champs, Foot Locker etc...  The city does a poor job marketing the teams, cities such as New York, Kansas City, New Orleans do a good job show casing the professional teams.  I don't think the city officials understand how much money can be generated when the market the team.

I've never done the Dome tour so I can't speak on that, I hope you make it back to ATL.... I'm sure you had some fun here in the dirty south... lol.

Disappointing thread. . . I am a lifer atl fan. . . . 24 years and counting. . . I've never been to Atlanta or a home game its a dream and it will happen soon.  It cost so much more to fly into atl so ive seen them in Pitt  Denver and Seattle and this year going to KC as my wife is a chiefs fan. . . In all those cities they have stores and the teams are represented very very predominantly.  I was hoping the same for my DIRTY BIRDS! Hope to have a diiferent experience. . . .

I myself am from Canada and me and my family were able to make it to the game vs. Greenbay this past season. I'd have to tell you that on non-game-days, there aren't many places to find Falcons merch. But on game days kiosks were all over the streets leading up to the dome and there are plenty of jerseys and hats to pick from. I was pretty shocked at how yellow the crowd was and how loud the Greenbay fans got when the Falcons offense was on the field. The Falcon fan-base within the city itself is pretty shameful.

I'm surprised that you couldn't find any gear in perimeter mall, as there are a couple of stores there (unless they have closed since October).

One has a lot of GEorgia stuff IIRC, with a small selection of falcons metchandise mixed in. The other (I think it's called football fanatics) has tons of NFL Gear, a substantial amount of which is falcons stuff- including authentic jerseys.

Ok I have to stick up for my city and my team... It's not a stadium in the NFL that doesn't have Green Bay Packers fans.  I'm sure if you went to a Carolina and Green Bay game it will be the same way.

As far as Falcons shirts, hats etc... They closed down the Falcons store but you can go into any ***** or Sports Authority and get Falcons gear.
