you know I keep hearing this. in all honesty a lot of saints fans have been nice. that is why I made that thread about saying sorry for my stupid actions from katrina-calling y'all aints. but even if y'all were the worst or most hatered team, still I should have never said anything about katrina.
in fact I am pissed about Katrina because it brought a lot of y'all up here and y'all stayed. WTH? lol. Katrina should have never happened. just curious how is everything with the city now. all I hear from the announcers is "wow hurricane did this", but they never say how the town is doing, and they leave us to believe the city is still in ruins and flooded.
and I will say this, when it happened my house and my parents house were open to anyone who was trying to get away from that storm.
So anyhow, I just got hurt at work pretty bad. "tietze syndrome". and the doctor won't let me work for a year. so I have found myself with an oppurtunity to come down there. I really want to see my falcons win and all, but I am really interested in seeing if this is true. Maybe y'all do have real fans and not bandwagon fans.
If you know anyone who is selling tickets to that game or you want to meet up. send me a PM
If you want to know how any city is doing after a Storm do not watch the Weather Channel or any news Channels, they are only told to give you the bad new's, the Fox Cam's usually do a good job panning through the city, New Orleans is one of few cities where they actually have Camera people actually on foot taking inner city close up shots, most other cities that don't have anything to look at they simply do a blimp or helicopter birds eye view over it..
The city is doing great, still lots of work to do, you have to really go out looking for any left over storm damage to find it, there's some but unless you go into some neighborhoods that haven't been rebuilt yet you wont notice it..
All the Tourist spots really never got any of the full extent of the storm which helped the city bounce back economically.
Right now there's a Large Swath of land that is being grabbed by the state for a VA Teach Hospital for LSU.. Preservationist have done all they could do to slow or stop it, but the state won and homes have been moved to another are or dozed.. Im actually glad they are going through with the Biomedical corridor which will bring in Engineering Students and eventually companies which translates to jobs, This is something Houston, Alabama and Atlanta did a long time ago, New Orleans is just now doing it, this should create new industry down the line and bring in a new breed of conservative pupil.
New Orleans Thanks mostly to
504ward and
The Idea Village has turned into a Business Hub and have been named Entrepreneur of the year for a couple of years now
... A lot of small and big businesses are being thought up, financed, and stationed right in the city, you can check out their websites to find out more.
Various other parts of the city have either upgraded or been repaired, there's a lot of street work to do though..
City Park is magnificent right now and they are currently building a PGA Gulf Course out there along with 4 New Soccer fields, a huge dog park, a big area designated for Voodoo fest and other events, a massive Tennis area a gigantic Sculpture park and a nice size amateur gulf park.
All of the old theaters that rotted even before Katrina have been bought out by Broadway South and Hollywood South Tax Credits and are being renovated or restored.
Canal street is getting a huge facelift along with various new companies moving in which includes a massive Louis Vuitton and Gucci Department store, Riverwalk Mall is being upgraded, all along the river is being planned for a huge and very long recreation area which includes Jazz Walk of fame-Similar to Hollywood walk of fame, This will also include an interactive Water fountain and museums and Hotels..
New Orleans recently landed a Floating Skateboard Park as well, it sits on top of the Mississippi River, kinda the first of it's kind thought i'd mention it..
A lot of Old buildings are being converted into tall modern Hotels which got a lot of heat from preservationist and residents but i guess money won.
So yea New Orleans has bounced back and gotten even better.. Gotta Get the crime under control which is #1 on our minds right now, but with New Orleans population growing and being diversified right now we have a new breed of people to control along with the old still fighting for territory.
