All this talk from the staff about more explosive plays got me thinking. What constitutes an explosive play? If you watch Brady and Co you see a lot of screens and crossing patterns across the middle. Brady rarely drops back and slings it 50 yards. If you watch Rodgers you see a similar scheme. Maybe even more quick slants that often go 20-30 yards a pop.
I think Mularkey envisions "explosive" as more of a 70's raiders style offense. All of his pass plays are slow developing with little or no rhythm. That's what is getting Ryan killed. He is dropping back and waiting for the play to develop. When he makes a quick read in the no huddle he is much more effective. We have Jaquiz Rogers and no screen plays for him where he could really be dangerous.. I don't know if TD is involved in any scheme meetings or decisions, but someone needs to change the course if Mike Smith is unwilling. Just my opinion.
