This is priceless, another reason to appreciate our own Arthur Blank. No wonder the panthers are in disarray..

Panthers owner mocks Manning, Brees
Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson may not be invited to dinner any time soon with two of the NFL's top quarterbacks. Richardson mocked quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Drew Brees during a Feb. 5 negotiating session with the NFL Players Association, says three league sources, a sign of disrespect that the union hopes solidifies its members in the pending labor battle with the NFL. "[Richardson] was extremely condescending to them, especially toward Peyton," a source said. ... Apparently, Richardson was particularly sarcastic when Manning started to talk about players' safety. At one point, Richardson evidently said, "What do you know about player safety?"

If the league is going to fine players for their conduct, maybe they should start to fine owners as well...

Like some, including myself has said, he and his suck team has nothing to worry about. He's not gonna spend to make them any better, he just wants to stick around and suck up revenue sharing. He is an obnoxious loser and a disgrace to the NFL.#### him. #### him with a power tool.

You know I never really understood how important ownership was until Arthur Blank bought this team. Now I'm not saying every team that has won a superbowl has had great owners (the Glazer twins and Benson are proof of that); sometimes the planets just align for certain teams. However if you look at the teams that are consistently in or sniffing the playoffs every year you see a good owner in the background letting his football people run the team. I am convinced Arthur Blank will eventually bring ths city a championship.

One story about Rankin Smith Sr that I heard a long time ago
was interesting to say the least.

Seems that Rankin knew that putting a team together that would win a Lombardi would have only gained him around $300k in profit.
But the expenditure on players would have cost him much more than that.

Also based on our players salaries against Revenue Sharing, Rankin made a lot of
money off of this team.

Sounds like Mike Brown as well. I think Brown, Richardson, Snyder, and Wilson are among the worst owners in football.

I gotta side with Richardson on the mess as a whole.  Manning will someday if not already be an owner of some kind of business and will no longer need his a$$ kissed by his teammates.

In case you guys didn't know, Jerry was a player for the Colts in the league when things were rough and dirty.

Yeah, when all the players weren't post steroid use poster boys and didn't all run sub 4.5 forties and weigh 300+ pounds.  As dirty as it was it wasn't nearly as dangerous as the scientific freaks that are playing the game today.  Just another old man pretending his glory days were better than the young man's who is currently living it.  Same old story...

How old are you?

I remember those days and the stuff they did in the pros pre 1963 was unbelievable rough, dirty and dangerous with the paper thin helmets, pads and no face guards- spearing, clotheslines, gouging....
