I haven't read everything yet but was at the AM practice today and there is definitely a difference in our secondary with Dunta back there. He swatted down 3 passes today causing two to be picked off. This cat is everything D-Hall was supposed to be for us. He is quick, has instincts/closing speed, and has a desire to be great. Kid knocked down one of Ryan's passes and gave him a look afterward like, "don't come this way". lol. Loved it.

Turner looks good and fit as well. Very light on his feet this morning. Norwood looked fast as usual. And that Fla State kid we picked up late last year, Antoine Smith (I think his name is) looked very quick as well. All 3 Qb's looked pretty good for their first practice. Wilson surprised me with a few very accurate "thread the needle" type passes out there. All in all, pretty decent practice considering they are not wearing pads yet. Had a great time.

Did you see anything from William Moore, if I may ask?

Agreed on Dunta helping Ryan. Ryan's pass was accurate that he knocked down but he kicked in some last second jets and closed fast. He will definitely help Ryan. As for Smith, I think he just provides a little insurance for Norwood. To me, they are similar type backs. Snelling is more like Turner so it just gives us very good depth so we can keep a good change of pace. I think between him and Franks on returning kicks. That should be a good battle as well.

I like Smith's size over Franks but we'll see, I'd rather have him out there over HD/Norwood.  As long as everyone on D stays healthy I think they're going to help the younger guys on O develop these next 6 weeks.

Not much. He did have a pass defensed but that was about it. It's hard to see what some of these guys can do without pads so I am sure he will be good against the run later on. Against the pass he seemed to be moving around very well as was Coleman. Coleman actually had a int off a Dunta pass knock down today. Should be a good battle.

I agree. I'd like to keep HD and Norwood on offense only for health reasons. That being said, HD sure was good in the return game 2 seasons ago. That is hard to take off the field unless one of these other guys can be very good as well.

We're going to create "Official" fan report/observation threads this year, to make it easier for everyone to find your detailed updates. We'll be organizing these by practice. Anyone at the first practice Friday morning at 8:30 am, have at it...--Moderator
Nice idea. Repositories would be awesome.

Anyway is the Moderator still Dan?

If so, we have several great Mods here like Rev, Shiney, Banker and the gang but you are the man bro. Trust me. After 10 years on the board, thanks for all the good work!

It just gets better and better.

Hey All -

Yes, still me...has it been 10 years? Wow, does time fly, but it's been a blast watching these boards continue to grow and evolve.

Let me know how you all would prefer these practice reports be indexed and archived. Should we pin just the current day's thread? The past two days? Should we post the archives in a separate, new forum? Let me know what you think.

And by the way, the new media team - especially James Hicks, our developer extraordinaire - are all burning the midnight oil getting ready to bring you AF.com version 5.0. It's the latest iteration of AF.com and the fifth redesign/re-engineering I've been involved with here.

The boards aren't changing, but the rest of the site will be dramatically different. And all of our content from this first day of practice will be live on the new site. We held back quite a bit of our coverage because we were focused on getting this launched.

At some time around Noon or 1 pm Saturday, you'll see a completely different site when you point your browser to www.atlantafalcons.com.

yeah Smith is a smaller version of Norwood. He is a big injury concern IMHO.

You have to know, Dan, that you and your team have developed, over 10 years, the best boards in the NFL. The boards are so good that even our arch rival Aint's fans can't help but call this place home. They love it, we all love it, and success on your part should be rewarded. Therefore, I want you to take a long and exotic vacation for 90 days to any location(s) of your choice,..my treat!

Oh,...wait. The season is soon upon us. Never mind. Get back to your good work. :D

Thanks for all the hard work, I agree with everything Supes said right above me :P

It would be nice for a separate forum to archive the practice reports through training camp and keep them accessible throughout the season. It would give (some of) us the chance to look back and dissect the training camp reports as we are on the road to the Superbowl.

I know that it would be a lot of fun and very informative to be able to do that at any time so we can see the progression of our team on a day-to-day basis at any time, looking back at how the breakout players performed during camp, and how any disappointments (if any) developed.

Reports preferably would be nice to have each practice have its own thread, but it would be understandable having each day with its own thread. Kind of an online version of Hard Knocks if you will ;)

Thanks so much for the kind words!

Great ideas - I'm going to separate by practice, not just day...and I'll make sure these are archived.

Creating today's AM Practice thread now.

Why thank you, kind sir! My long and exotic vacation will be right here in the A-T-L. Flowery Branch, to be specific. But in February (not January, mind you!) I'm going to find the closest beach and the closest umbrella drink.

yes, a new forum would be great. it could replace the least used one or just be another one. there will be nothing but pinned practices on page one of TATF before long otherwise.
